Silver Hallmarks

An invaluable guide for all silver antique collectors is the silver hallmark. This stamp that appears on the silver can tell the collector the era it was made and where it was made and the quality of the silver. Silver hallmarks were introduced to assure the quality. Every Collector should have in there libary a silver hallmark book to use as a reference and also a good magnifying glass as hallmarks are very small and not easy to identify with the naked eye.
